Since January 1, 2016, the Balearic Islands government has imposed a Balearic Tourist Tax, payable upon check-in. Prices vary depending on the length of stay and the season (Low or High). This tax applies to travelers over 16 years of age. The rate during high season (April to October inclusive) will be: €2.20 per day per adult (16+) for the first 8 days; €1.10 per day per adult for the remainder. Royal Decree 933/2021, of October 26, establishing the documentary registration and information obligations of natural or legal persons engaged in accommodation and motor vehicle rental activities. 1. The owners of the accommodation and vehicle rental activities included in the scope of this regulation will collect the data of their users for the purpose of registering them and providing the necessary communication to comply with the legal obligations established by this Royal Decree. 2. The entry forms for the use of accommodation services must be signed by all persons over the age of fourteen who use them, in accordance with the established system and model. In the case of persons under fourteen, their data will be provided by the adult person they are accompanied by. 3. Guests will receive the link from the host to register all members who will stay in the vacation rental properties. This process is very simple and quick, and failure to comply with this legal requirement may result in the termination of the prior contract, making it impossible for guests to access the reserved property.
